Courtney Carter has come full circle working as a reporter for Spectrum News CNY as she obtained her undergraduate degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. After attending Syracuse, she obtained her masters degree in journalism from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
After graduating, Courtney started out as a News Assistant at WCBS in New York City. She then moved on as an assignment editor for Verizon Fios 1 News and News 12 The Bronx & Brooklyn then eventually becoming a Reporter for the station.
In her career, she was involved in covering major stories including Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Harvey, the Spuyten Duyvil train derailment, the killing of New York City Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo, Legionnaires’ disease and the ongoing coverage of the killing of two Brooklyn officers, Officer Ramos and Officer Liu, while on duty.
