(Meredith) – Hillary Clinton appeared to leave the door open for a 2020 White House bid, saying even though she doesn’t want to run again, she’d like to be president.
The former Democratic presidential nominee made the comments during a Q&A in New York with Recode on Friday, the Washington Post reported.
“We’re going to talk about 2020 in a minute. Do you want to run again?” asked Recode’s Kara Swisher.
“No. No,” Clinton quickly replied. But after a brief pause, she added: “Well, I’d like to president.”
Clinton went on to say that “there’s going to be so much work to be done” after a Democrat “hopefully” wins the next presidential election.
